Uprising South African rapper MIRE returns to our site with two singles “treat me well like how 2PAC treated you well, wtf” and “i fell in love with you, i’m sorry. i had to run away”.

“Treat me well like how 2PAC treated you well, wtf?” is the first track and it’s a smooth and bouncy tune that explores the ups and downs of chasing one’s goals in the music industry. Over a dusty and sombre backdrop, MIRE gives us a glimpse into his hopes, worries and fears as he manoeuvres through the industry’s concrete jungle filled with predators.

The second song “I fell in love with you, I’m sorry. I had to run away” starts with an acoustic guitar and filtered vocal sample before the hushed drums come into play. Here, MIRE talks about regret, and unrequited love from the perspective of an individual who is afraid to commit due to fear of rejection and past trauma. The lyrics are quite relatable, somewhat playful but emotionally touching.
