NY emcee/producer MeccaGodZilla teams up with Philly lyricist thekeenone for his new single titled “Tread”. The track is a dark and cinematic piece that is made up of rousing drum grooves and ominous textures, all underpinned by thekeenone energetic flows and vivid rhyme schemes. Joining them on the track is Eric Bobo of Cypress Hill who gets busy on the djembe drums.
“Tread” is taken from MeccaGodZilla’s forthcoming compilation album Hidden Jewels of Mecca. The project is a testament to MeccaGodZilla’s creative pivot into sharing unreleased music from his vaults, providing fans with a unique glimpse into his musical archives. The compilation will drop later this year and is a must-have for anyone who appreciates innovative Hip Hop music. Besides the compilation’s artwork being done by legendary digital artist Beeple (who gave MeccaGodZilla the green light during the pandemic to use his art for the album cover), a random fun fact is that “Tread” was originally a hidden track on Eric Bobo’s solo album “Meeting of the Minds Vol. 1” on Nacional Records.
