Midwestern rap movement United Grind‘s founder, HiJinks hits the ground running with this new single “Ambush Ballad,”, a hard-hitting banger that also features Raleigh, N.C. emcee Lena Jackson. As the title suggests, the track sees the duo going on verbal warfare against the opposition over Bratislava, Slovakia-based Deryck‘s cinematic soundscape. HiJinks sets the tone with his laidback and precise flows with lines like “I’m running with extra shooters/niggaz with come for your ass like an Uber/packing a Mac instead of an app and a Buick” before handing the mix to Lena who helps close it out. She is definitely not here to play games and she blacks out for the rest of the track with edgy lyrics and wraps it up with “Just a tip of the ice, I left this realm and came back twice/Next time I gats to watch my back, it won’t be nothing nice“.
HiJinks and Lena Jackson bring loads of charisma to the visuals, too, which were directed by HiJinks’ own Reel Dope Cinematic venture in association with Game Changing Productions & Stay Beat Studios. While the video’s focus is primarily on HiJinks and his guest, it also features other members of his United Grind crew.
