This weekend’s instrumental playlist starts on a nostalgic note, thanks to producer Mr. Donsai, who takes us back “Home,” with this solemn piano-driven backdrop. Next is the punchy, groovy piece “De La Dave” by Teemu Nätynki, who pays homage to the legendary hip-hop group and delivers a solid jam you can hear the trio rapping over. Chill LoFi Panda Boy brings the warm memories with “The Light That Stayed Low,” a guitar-driven lofi/soul piece with lush keys and a solid headnodding drum groove. Coming through from our shores in the UK are kBeats and Beyond moments, who team up for “Fractal Patterns,” a mellow lofi/soul piece with alternative music elements. The slow build-up of the strings, ominous pads and sparse rhythms all come together to create a gripping ambiance that culminates in emotional outpour and a final resolution that completes the cycle.

Modalimps enters this week’s playlist with “Already over,” a solemn track that evokes bittersweet memories, while Toneparo‘s “Paper River” adds an emotional counterbalance with a somewhat uplifting piano arrangement. KALLYS steps into the forefront with “Reales,” a smooth R&B/soul infused track that is bolstered by scenic textures and prevalent horns that hit the soul.  “holding my heart” by Flapjaques is the perfect addition to your lovelorn/nostalgia playlist. The production is simple but emotionally powerful. Tokyo Dust Beats shows us the view from the “Cafe Window at 1 PM,” and it’s quite splendid. The production is scenic, relaxing and blissful. BeatZephyr pumps up the energy with “Sit back and relax,” a bouncy horn-driven jam that highlights the power of modern jazz with a touch of hip-hop swag. “Nostalgic Mood” is a collaboration by Groove and iLLUSTRATXR, and it lives up to its title. The layered pads and strings create a soul-lifting ambiance that evokes nostalgia. The drums are quite punchy, too, and the switch-up in the middle is so dope, adding an extra cinematic feel to the track. Erwin Do and Simber connect for “Wandering,” a single that blends lofi/jazz with experimental sensibilities. The pianos are bright and layered, with offbeat sound design, and a plucky bassline and slow chord movements that sound full as the song moves along. “Shadow Cut Riddim (Badshatta Cover)” by producer/DJ Badshatta is a spine-chilling cinematic piece that sounds like the score of a modern sci-fi thriller. The strings and dark synths play off each other alongside the subtle bassline and soft drum grooves that blend trap and dancehall rhythms.  “Woven Moments” brings together Lofi Milk and 五十嵐一生 for a brilliant experimental jazz/soul cut that breaks the mould. The track has ethereal textures layered with horns, soft piano chords with a moody tetxure that highlight emotions and memories. The intern and DJ Robert Smith take us back with this 90s hip-hop influenced track, “Word Is Bond.” The track boasts the most punchy boombap drums ever, is textured with rich piano chords, and features superb vocal scratching with samples sourced from classic hip-hop songs and a classic film.  “Cocos” is a soul-stirring jazz piece brought to us by Erwin Do, JASON MASOUD and Simber. The track has a summery vibe and layered instrumentation comprising warm basslines, rich piano chords and plucky guitar licks and a soft drum groove to close the deal. Madrid, Spain-based music producer Kowhaii lead us into his world with the aptly titled single “My Town 95′.” The track has a nostalgic feel, and it’s quite soulful. From the warm pads, prominent guitar licks, sturdy drum groove, and fills that drive the track into the different sections, listeners get the vibe of cruising down city streets on a cool, breezy day.
