PREMIERE: Bill Biggz & Glock George – The Come Up

Bill Biggz is back and flying with Glock George on ‘The Come Up’, his latest single for Variation Music. With production from ClintonPlace that retains a sense of menace despite the absurd sound of the xylophone, the pair trade fierce verses on the mic with a nice chemistry. Download for free over at Variation Music’s Bandcamp.

Bandcamp To Introduce Artist Subscription Service

Cool news for the independent music scene with the announcement from Bandcamp that they will be introducing an artist subscription service. Essentially, for a fee (not yet clear if it is yet monthly or annual), as soon as an artist’s page releases new music – and of course, artists pages can include a label’s entire discography – it becomes available to the subscriber, although older releases will still remain archived unless otherwise distributed through the subscription service. It’s a pretty neat thing and a fantastic way to support artists and their music distribution, even if it’s not an original..

Jody OG – No More prod. Cxsh

NYC spitta Jody OG is about to bring the longest night the underground world has seen with his single ‘No More’. This joint, featuring production from Cxsh, comes as the first single from his mixtape The Winter Soulstice 2 which is set to drop December 21st; the wordsmith dropped the first Soulstice mixtape around the same time last year, and just as he’s developed part two so has his wiseness. Crxsh accompanies the bars with a vibe that sends you off into a wonderland, his stimulating snares and captivating intensity would even give Alice a rush. Vowing to no longer devote himself to the shadiness..

L.E.O. – W.I.N. Vol. 2: Left Out Stranded Everywhere

After being quiet for almost a year, Q Borough emcee L.E.O. brings us some reality-driven joints on his sequel to W.I.N.. This volume is a little shorter than the previous one, but nevertheless he keeps the quality above par from the first joint to the last. The usual suspects Carnage and Hellspawn make cameos along with L.E.O.’s wife Mrs Raic (who rips him for not putting her on the first volume). Musically the sounds are broody and somewhat dark (courtesy of Dom Producci production) while L.E.O.’s laid back flow and occasionally humorous lyrics gives the entire project a twisted spin. It’s almost..
