Otis Mensah once again shows his knack for extensive wordplay, conscious subject threads weaved over classic boom-bap/soul beats. On his new release titled “Grand Finale Funeral Show”, he displays a fiery performance that meshes poetry, introspection and abstract elements to convey his frustrations that come from the various pressures of the creative world. He shows a handful of emotions too as he comes to terms with the situation at hand. It’s interesting how he fuses expressionism into his bag of tricks without losing lyrical integrity and engagement with the listener.

The visual also gives the song a new life as it captures Mensah performing a one-man live show to his clones.
