“Producer Rapper” by Mike the $eventh and Daylo Raymonz is a nod to all the rapping producers out there trying to get in the game.  Over a moody soundscape with punchy drums, Mike the $eventh set the scene with lines like”Just a young producer trying to get his flows off” and reminds audiences not to overlook producers who rap. He is joined by fellow producer/rapper Daylo Raymonz, who adds his own thoughts. East London-based rapper Eklipse connects with Dutch producer Maydien for this new dope collaboration “BOSS.” The track has an experimental feel, with offbeat drums, ethereal textures, and keys, underpinned by smooth flows and engaging, bravado-laden bars. “High Speed” is the latest release from rapper/producer st.noir. The self-produced track blends Reggae/dancehall melodies with modern trap grooves and cinematic synth arrangements. The emcee delivers his flows with urgency, taking audiences on a smooth ride through the cityscapes.

Prolific lyricist Showrocka returns with a brand new jam, “Freedom Voices,” which finds him connecting with Ansolu and Sa-Roc for a call to action. Over a punchy, upbeat backdrop, the emcees showcase the power of knowledge and elite lyricism. UK-based alternative artist Pressed Art brings a different vibe to the playlist with “Fool’s Gold”. Over a contemporary pop/soft rock soundscape featuring punchy drums, scenic textures, and synths, the rapper reflects on life and the hurdles that keep holding him back. “I Loved You More” is a heartfelt R&B/hip-hop-infused cut that brings together Shakes, Sarai, and Cøalition. The result is an insightful and conceptual piece about a cheating partner and the emotional struggles he has to deal with while his spouse tries to salvage the situation. Shakes’s verses explore the situation from the man’s viewpoint, while Sarai’s chorus focuses on the wife. There is a plot twist at the end of the track, which is a brilliant take on the song’s core theme.

 

Los Angeles Veteran Rapper Cashus King and Big O are working on an upcoming collaborative album, Water to Wine, but in the interim, they share the lead single “Streams.” The track has a warm, soulful vibe and a solid bounce underpinned by insightful bars about growth and fatherhood. Led by Cashus King’s commanding flow and vivid storytelling, Blu’s heartfelt verse and emotional depth, alongside  Frannie El and Shari‘s sublime vocal runs that help cement the soulful aesthetic of the track. Con-Q connects with Tay Tay for “Beautiful Day 2,” an uplifting and inspirational piece about gratitude. Over a soulful production led by rich guitar licks, thick bass-laden drums and a Gospel-tinged aesthetic, the emcee talks about his faith and the small mercies that many might overlook. Emerging singer/songwriter Unicora pours her heart out on wax on “First Spark of the Ram,” a rousing and emotionally punchy ballad about self-love and finding one’s true purpose within love. Aka Arjay teamed up with Kenny Mack for “Beautiful Life,” a heartfelt single that talks about the contrast between the good and bad experiences that make us whole.  The production style features a prominent contemporary pop guitar arrangement and punchy drum grooves featuring bright melodic vocals and a catchy hook with an uplifting message. The singer and emcee share their experiences with trauma, growth, faith and the power of resilience, themes that audiences can easily gravitate towards. Rising rapper Ju$t Tha Realne$$  “Bring Hip Hop Back 2 Da Streets” in his latest release. The track is an urgent call to action for lovers of the culture, with the rapper at the helm. Backed by a hard-hitting, scenic backdrop featuring hard-hitting brass-laden beats and a cinematic sample, the emcee details his love for hip-hop and the culture and sends a warning to the culture vultures and perpetrators alike.

 

South African singer/songwriter Slick Brown debuts on our playlist with “Live for nothing,” a smooth, melodic offering that highlights his vocal range and relatable songwriting underpinned by vulnerability and emotional intelligence. The track is a plea to a lover not to leave the home love has made and explores the power of emotional bonding. HENRY ABERSON connects with Derran Day and  Korey Keys for “Call,” a modern love ballad that fuses classic R&B and soul aesthetics. The production has a warm and relaxing vibe, and the layered vocal runs cut through the mix with surgical precision. A perfect addition to slow R&B jam playlists. Straight from the Metaverse and powered by AI technology comes Reflections, a rap entity that brings a different take on social and political themes. The latest release, “Matches in Your Pocket,” is an anthemic piece that looks at the power of self-belief and taking charge of one’s life in the midst of chaos. Music producer Prime Night teamed up with multi-talented rapper/songwriter Chima Anya to “Fight The Anxiety.” The track discusses how a life event can keep one from pursuing their goals. The production has a scenic and urgent feel, which highlights Chima Anya’s vivid storytelling and insightful lyrics. Canadian rapper JRoberts returns to the paint with the spirit of “86 Lary Bird” in their latest release. Backed by the dark and ominous production by prolific producer Im’peretiv, JRoberts enters the game with verbal 3 pointers and a clutch so tight, opposition just have to concede before it gets out of hand. Metaphysical‘s latest release, “Who Struggles,” is a profound look at the never-ending cycle of the everyday struggle. The production has a brooding and cinematic feel, which adds a sense of urgency to the insightful raps that deal with overcoming adversity and challenges that reshape the mind. “LONG WAY UP” by emerging rapper KCX  is an aspirational and motivational tune reminding us to take the bull by the proverbial horns. Armed with his offbeat flow and knack for frank lyrics, the rapper sends a call to action for us to get up, get out and get things done. O Super enters this week’s playlist with “Run This Way,” a concept track that infuses science fiction and fantasy storytelling with experimental hip-hop vibes. Against the scenic backdrop of K-Murdock, O Super takes audiences on a journey through uncharted worlds with colourful characters. Also featured on the track is actor and director Coozy CaMino. The song is taken from O Super’s newest album O.K. NY-born, Melbourne-based artist, SHIRA returns with new single “never had you,” a heartfelt ballad that explores the emotional pain of letting go of blossoming love that never truly manifested.
