Revered California-based emcee Murs and Texan producer Wiardon recruit Larry June and IceColdBishop for this brilliant posse cut titled “Starting Lineup”. Over Wiardon’s solemn and reflective soundscape made up of lush guitar licks, warm pads and soft grooves, the emcee’s trade bars on different topics about their lives and give listeners a glimpse into their progression as artists.
Both Murs and Wiardon have interesting backstories and have logged in more than 10,000 hours as creatives in their respective fields. In 2016, we all remember when Murs set a Guinness World Record for rapping for 24 hours non-stop during a live stream on Twitch while at age 16, Austin-based rapper/producer Wiardon’s NUMBA1VIKTIM debuted with 10 songs on NUMBA1VIKTIM on SoundCloud, including a feature with Wiki.
“Starting Lineup” is the lead single from Murs and Wiardon’s collaborative EP speak n spell.
