It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. Vos – “Like Water”

Vos is a Musician who operates out of Las Vegas. He is originally from Chicago IL, but he moved to Vegas after graduating from the university VCU in Richmond VA. While in University Vos not only developed his own style of music with the release of his 1st full length album “The Melancholy of Nevos Tyler” aka “MONT” he also hosted the radio show “Secret Bonus Level” which still airs on WRIR 97.3fm. Vos is currently releasing a song a week as a member of “Sadart Collective” to expand his already impressive discography. Mr.Peabody‘s “let go” is a melancholic piece that tells the story of a broken man who was saved by the pad and pen. Over an upbeat guitar-driven trap backdrop, he shares his feelings and how he uses the pad and pen as the perfect therapy against the drama-filled world he lives in.

Queen Drie – “Mama”

Queen Drie ‘s”Mama” is the 3rd single from her stable and it’s a heartwarming tribute to her mother. She details all the ups and downs her mum had to go through and how her strength helped make her who she is.
In her own words “This song is a Birthday/Mother’s Day gift to my mom, Lydia. I love you more than the limit of verbal language allows me to express.

 

 

 

TURNA – “MJ DOOM”

Manchester based producer TURNA‘s “MJ DOOM” is a mash up of MF Doom‘s “My Favourite Ladies” and Michael Jackson‘s “I Can’t Help It.”
It’s pretty groovy from start to finish.

 

 

 

Anoki x Gio x Oved Da Kid – “Dial Tone”

Anoki and Gio team up with Oved Da Kid for their new collaboration titled “Dial Tone.” The trio makes use of a soft, soulful backdrop courtesy of CHEGELA and delivers a blend of lyrical styles that range from mellow to fiery.
They also throw in a little interpolation of the classic song by the late Bill Withers.

Broughton – “Underachiever”

Broughton shares some insightful thoughts on his new single “Underachiever.” Over a reflective backdrop, the rapper takes time to reflect on his own flaws and self-doubts. Speech & The Vagabond Family – “Just Too Cold (feat. Rambo & Danny B.)”

Speech & The Vagabond Family are back in the fold with the visuals for his previously released single “Just Too Cold.” The upbeat jazz-infused MRK SX, produced jam gets the perfect visual treatment and brings the various black experience to the forefront thanks to director Nakeeta Nova. The video was shot by Kerry K.D. Gray at WERD studios in Atlanta, the very first Black-owned radio station, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke on the airwaves and where Madam CJ Walker had her beauty shop. Needless to say, the spirit in the room gave everyone goosebumps.

Trak – “Sheikh”

Trak ‘s “Sheikh” is a nice display of cultures as the Canadian rapper mixes his Arabic roots and Western upbringing, Trak is originally Egyptian, born in the Middle East (Qatar). Over a dark hard-hitting trap backdrop, he delivers a tongue-in-cheek performance that details his background and how he straddles between both worlds.

Tieran – “Hold Hands”

Connecticut native Yung Pacemaker delivers a hard-hitting jam titled “7Bs.” Over a dark texture layered with thumping drums and ominous keys, Pacemaker shows us how minimalistic rap can go a long way.

Dmts – “Pardon Me, A Mothers Pain”

Dmts‘ “Pardon Me, A Mothers Pain” is a true-life story of his upbringing. Backed by a lush, anthemic, and soulful backdrop, Dmts takes us back to the start and shows us the different stages of life and how his many endeavors affected his mother. He doesn’t shy away from sharing his time in Juvenile detention, adult prison to eventually turning his life around. His main goal is to create a new and positive path for the next generation of youth while educating them with unique storytelling through his music. His message is unity, ownership and creating generational wealth.
