Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 5 Videos. This is a segment where we will be looking at some exceptional visuals from various acts from around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades and through the 90s and 2000s, it has really taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Crotona P x ManZu Beatz – “Serious Shit”

Rochester, NY’s Crotona P helped set off this week’s video playlist with the visuals for his song “Serious Shit.” Bolstered by a menacing soundscape provided by Italian beat mafioso ManZu Beatz , Crotona proceeds with a no-holds-barred flow that aims to take out the competition from the blindside. The visual is as dark and brooding as the track and makes use of performance shots of the lyricist as he prowls in the dark with his squad.

“Serious Shit” is taken from the recent collaboration album between Crotona and ManZu entitled Killer Instinct “The Movie” (available now in vinyl and digital format). A combination of authentic hard-body NY spit with dark, cinematic, and thumping beats, the album guests such spitters as M Doc DiegoEmerg Da MC, Street Da Villain, Slik Jack, Jfliz, Kahlee, and Jae Hussle as well as turntable work from Cutsupreme and Tone Spliff.

Dude Reppin Knowhere – “SUPER DUDE”

Emerging emcee Dude Reppin Knowhere shares the visuals for his song “SUPER DUDE” which shows us a glimpse into his off-kilter lifestyle. Over a bouncy and somewhat bright soundscape, he delivers his verses in a nonchalant, carefree style while he paints pictures of how he goes about his daily healthy activities and tries to be that super dude that everyone loves him for. From his strict vegan diet and healthy choices for both the mind and body, the dude sure gives listeners a thing or two to ponder. The visual is pretty vivid and follows a documentary-style concept where we see Dude Reppin Knowhere taking viewers along as he walks his dog, shops at the supermarket, preps meals, plays piano, etc.

Sukihana – “Grinch”

Rapper Sukihana’s “Grinch” is an unapologetic and self-confident track that showcases her sexuality and preferences in all their glory. Backed by a bouncy backdrop, she gives listeners a peek into how she gets down and the visual also captures similar sentiment with a blend of performance shots and plenty of voluptuous ladies having fun with no restrictions.

Dtour – “20 Bag”

Dtour makes his entry on our site with “20 Bag“, a classic stoner anthem that pays homage to his favorite strains and plug. The production by Homage Beats is hazy and chilled while his laidback flow works perfectly. The visual is pretty engaging as well and makes use of moody ethereal motifs and colors that keeps viewers locked in from start to finish.

Brandon Isaac & Free Mind – “Nothing Last Forever”

Cincinnati-raised Brandon Isaac and LA-producer Free Mind close out the list on a somber and reflective note with their song  “Nothing Last Forever”. The song dives into growth, self-awareness, and the concept of making moves count before it’s too late. The production by Free Mind is brilliant, quite soulful, punchy, and reflective while Brandon’s impassioned flows and direct lyrics pierce the soul with all intent and purposes.

This is the first Single From The new North Star Album.
