The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Jordan Baumstark – “1995”.

Jordan Baumstark takes us back to “1995” in his latest release. The track taps into the 90s with its moody and dark soundscape which flips a classic sample that hip-hop lovers would recognize. Baumstark wastes no time in stating his claims. The visual has a similar feel that captures the rapper in his element.

 

 

Disaster of Ceremonies – “Gasping For Breath”.

Disaster of Ceremonies is a producer who enters our video playlist with his latest track “Gasping For Breath.” The track has a dark and solemn feel comprising moody textures, plucky strings and a whispered vocal that lies underneath the punchy drum break. The visual style employs AI to create a trippy, psychedelic blend of cosmic, occultic and musical elements.

 

J-Silk – “Cloud 9”.

 

Bordeaux-London based genre-bending trio J-Silk delivers the performance visuals for their song “Cloud 9.”  The warm Future R&B track is a smooth showcase of rich vocal runs, expressive songwriting and dynamic instrumentation.

 

 

 

Rhyme Assassin – “Run Em Up (Told ya)” (feat. M.O.P. & Ruste Juxx)

 

London-based rapper Rhyme Assassin is ready to go as he teams up with NY giants M.O.P. and Ruste Juxx for his new single “Run Em Up (Told ya).” The anthemic jam is ripe with the classic NY brass-driven stabs, horns and punchy drums underpinned by no-holds-barred lyricism from the emcees. The visuals were shot in Brooklyn by Danny of Entity Studio, and brings together the quartet in the same room with their supporting squad.

“Run Em Up (Told Ya)” is the second single from Zimbabwe-born, London-based emcee, Rhyme Assassin’s forthcoming debut album Dedicated to Self, a star-studded project featuring legends like Ras Kass, Masta Ace, Stic Man (dead prez), Saigon, and Keith Murray. Production on the album comes from a heavyweight lineup, including Buckwild, Tru Master, and DJ King Flow

 

 

 

 

Krept & Konan – “Low Vibrations”

 

UK duo Krept & Konan release the visuals for their song “Low Vibrations,” a mid tempo playful jam that once again showcase the duo’s versatile approach. The production blends UK wave vibes with a touch of drill and Jersey Club bounce underpinned by their bravado-driven lyricism. . The accompanying music video was shot in Dubai, weaving personal moments of celebration – including Krept’s birthday- alongside friends and family.
The track serves as the lead single from their highly anticipated album, Young Kingz II, set for release on February 7th, 2025.
