Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we look at some exceptional visuals from various acts around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Tyler J Music – “Blessed & Chosen”

 

Tyler J Music and A3 team up for “Blessed & Chosen,” a retrospective and inspirational track that centers around leaving one’s dark past and finding the light through God. The track is bolstered by a cinematic soundscape comprising pounding drums, scenic brass synths and heartfelt lyrics. The visual style is mostly performance based but it’s engaging from start to finish.

 

 

 

 

Kingdom Kome x G Fam Black – “Deaths Grip”

 

Kingdom Kome and G Fam Black continue their weekly single releases with the latest being “Deaths Grip.” The brooding track is ripe with vivid and gritty bars, dark cryptic backdrops and excellent scratches from longtime collaborator collaborator RUEN.  The visual style employs retro clips and a touch of AI-assisted elements. “Deaths Grip” appears on the newly released collaborative LP Dirty Linens, which also spawned single/video treatment for “Feed The Flame” Produced by BoFaat (Snowgoons).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lazarous – “The Light”.

 

 

Vancouver, BC-based rapper Lazarous steps to the forefront with “The Light,” a mid-tempo track comprising soulful elements and a fusion of reflective and bravado raps. The visuals have a performance-based aesthetic and captures Lazarous doing what he knows best in different settings.

 

Gadoora – “21 Gun Salute”.

 

Gadoora steps to the forefront with “21 Gun Salute.” The track is an anthemic piece that sees him in his element as he talks about his life, roots and all the things that matter to him.

 

MC Paul Barman – “Blessings”.

 

MC Paul Barman shares the visuals for his new single “Blessings,” a heartfelt letter to fatherhood, growth and maturity. The visuals have a blend of performance shots and engaging visual effects that punctuate the wholesome concept that shows the relationship between a father and his son.
