The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

Manifesto23 – “Maybe”

Venezuelan singer/songwriter Manifesto23 enters our playlist with “Maybe.” The dark trap-soul tune is ripe with emotive performances, sublime melodic runs and a climatic chorus section. The visuals are captivating too and use a blend of performance shots, enthralling visual effects and heartfelt story telling.

 

Toosii, Muni Long – “I Do”

Toosii and Muni Long team up for “I Do,” a smooth modern R&B/hip-hop infused track that explores true love. A blend of rich melodies, love-laden lines and catchiness to match. The visual captures both artists’ chemistry with an exotic touch.

 

Black Fortune – “Mister”

DMV-bred rising star Black Fortune drops his new single “Mister”  with a visual representation. The song follows his previous release “Forrest Gump” and continues his slew of releases as he prepares for more music. The upbeat dark trap track is underpinned by street-savvy raps, expressive flows and energetic demeanour. The visual has a fast-paced energy too and blends a flurry of performance shots with fast cuts and frantic camera angles.

 

 

Phill Mac – “Shiftin’ “

Bristol rapper Phil Mac’s visuals for his song “Shiftin’ ” is a poignant and thought-provoking deep dive into his inner demons and the dark crevices of his mind. From depression, addiction and trepidations, Phl Mac gives audiences a vivid breakdown of his mental state over an eerie but playful punchy soundscape. The accompanying visual employs engaging set pieces, and storyboarding using motifs that allude to the craziness in his mind.

 

Miraa May – “Girlfriend”

London-based, Algerian-born singer-songwriter Miraa May unveils her single “Girlfriend” with its visual depiction. The solemn ballad explores heartbreak and the process of reclaiming oneself after the fact. Bolstered by a soul-stirring and reflective backdrop, May delivers a heartwarming performance ripe with candid songwriting and rich melodies to match. The visual is engaging as well and uses performance shots that capture Miraa May in her element.

 

 

KIDSUPER X GIGGS X QUAVO – KidSuper presents “Big In Da Game”

Colm Dillane‘s KidSuper brand returns with a brand new release “Big In Da Game” featuring Giggs and Quavo. The cross-continental collaboration started right in Brooklyn, the home of KidSuper HQ on Roebling Street. The result is a hard-hitting dark and cinematic piece that blends no-holds-barred raps from both emcees. The accompanying visuals directed and produced by KidSuper Studios are inspired by Peaky Blinders and Snatch.
