Kendrick Lamar- “squabble up”

Kendrick Lamar is pulling no stops at this point. From defeating Drake, winning multiple video awards and a pending Grammy award nomination for “Not Like Us” to dropping a new album GNX 5 days ago, we can clearly state that he is cut above the rest. With that being said, he returns with the visual for the song “Squabble Up” taken from the album as mentioned earlier. The track has a Westcoast bounce with hyphy aesthetics and sees Kendrick Lamar in his element. Using similar cadences and new-found flow as heard on “No Like Us,” he takes it to another plateau with a playful, can’t-be-bothered approach and delivers not-so-subtle jabs at the opposition while detailing his Westcoast experience. The accompanying visual shot by Calmatic Production Company (in conjunction with pgLang) continues to push the envelope with a minimalist but motif-driven visual that blends black culture, black pop culture and WestCoast themes in a seamless fashion.

London-based, Algerian-born singer-songwriter Miraa May recently put out a 6-track EP Kind Regards which is led by the single “Ladies Man.” The track explores the double standards and dynamics between men and women and sexuality and it is ripe with unapologetic lines from Miraa May. Her soft vocals soar to a plateau as she pours her all on wax as she points out how men get away with certain actions while women get prosecuted for the same action.
