Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we will be looking at some exceptional visuals from various acts around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight the most creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

Chip Fu- “Like Us”
The legendary emcee Chip Fu of the NY rap group Fu-Schnickens is back in the ring with a brand new single “Like Us” which serves as a precursor to his forthcoming EP. The single is a testament to Chip Fu’s legacy as a time-tested emcee with the skills to prove it. Armed with his machine gun flow, triple time cadence, intricate rhyme schemes and complex patterns, Chip Fu delivers a master class in rapping on this hard-hitting joint produced by Bird on The Beat Productions. The visual is well-crafted and uses performance shots with eye-popping visual effects and transitions that show a return to form for the veteran rapper.
Estella Dawn – “Hey Gina”
Multi-faceted singer/songwriter Estella Dawn‘s latest tune “Hey Gina” explores the drama, chaos and hilarious moments involving a cheating ex and the individual he cheated on with. Over the modern pop soundscape comprising lush guitar licks and pulsating bass-driven grooves, Estella approaches it with a nonchalant and mostly playful vibe, confirming that she has moved on and is focused on better things. The visual uses moody and variant color schemes with performance shots laden with lyrics to add an extra oomph to the visual.
Dez Nado – “90s Show”
Jacksonville, FL-based Dez Nado pays homage to the past in “90s Show“, the bouncy tune produced by DJ Choppalot sees the rapper pouring adulations on the lady who caught his eye and how she reminds him of the many ladies from the 90s TV shows he grew up on. The visual blends performance shots of the rapper with clips from different 90s shows underpinned by VHS, grainy aesthetics.
MC Lyte – Thank You (Official Music Video) ft. Mary Mary, Muni Long
Legendary NY emcee and hip-hop pioneer MC Lyte gives praise to the lord for everything she has been able to accomplish in her decades-long career in the new single “Thank You” featuring Mary Mary and Muni Long. The track sees MC Lyte reflecting on humble beginnings and gradual progression in life. The visuals employ a cinematic and engaging storyboarding that captures the artists growth and also serves as a love letter to the supporters who never waivered all these years.
Kaia Laurielle – “Fragments.”
South London singer and songwriter Kaia Laurielle caught our ears and eyes with the visuals of her new single “Fragments.” The track explores the swirling emotions that come with finding comfort in the arms of someone who is not right for you. The track has a pulsating beat with warm, comforting chords and hushed drums while Kaia’s commanding vocals cut through the mix like a hot knife through butter. The visualizer is an engaging take on sensuality and brewing intensity between two individuals.
Katrina sotera – “Beauty”
Emerging Queens-based ilipinx/Costa Rican-American singer/songwriter Katrina sotera enters our playlist with her new single “Beauty”. The mellow reflective tune dives into the concept of being honest and unapologetic and comprises soothing vocal runs and heartfelt songwriting. The production by Microwav is rich, cinematic and warm as well while the accompanying visual displays Katrina in her element as she steps into the zone embodying different aspects of her true being.
Lily Rayne – EP ‘SIRENS’ + Single “Floating” ft. PHABO
Rhode Island-bred singer/songwriter Lily Rayne teams up with PHABO for her new single “Floating” taken from her new EP SIRENS. The track showcases her expressive vocal style and knack for rich melodic performances with a modern hip-hop vibe. Joining her on the track is PHABO who adds his laidback and assuring touch to it. The visual follows the duo on a limo ride with their friends.
Temptress – “What Would You Do”.
London-based R&B duo Temptress is made up of Jessi and Vlad who met while studying at Goldsmiths, University of London. The pair recently released their debut EP Pipedream and now they return with the visuals for their new single “What Would You Do”, a smooth refreshing summer-tinged jam that sees the duo reflecting on the lessons learned from a past relationship and weighing the odds with a clear cut view. The accompanying visual employs subtle and abstract elements with a touch of warm lighting underpinned by colourful set pieces. The duo are fully hands-on with their music and they both sing, produce their songs and self-direct their videos.
