DJ Rahdu of BamaLoveSoul blesses us with a new mixset called Some Jazz 17.

The hour-long mix focuses on the jazzy sounds of Madlib and delves into his catalogue of side-projects and personas, most notable Yesterday’s New Quintet. Rahdu takes some rare, funky grooves and put these together in a way that will keep your head nodding.

Here is how DJ Radhu explains the project . . .

“You really have to give it up to the brother for doing so well at tackling the massive strata of the Jazz genre. Madlib as YNQ represents a bridge between Jazz and Hip Hop, and as a torchbearer in this sense, his efforts should be applauded. This [is a] Love Letter to his genius and passion. For the sake of cohesion, given the hour long time frame given, this set focuses more on the funky, rare grooves, Mizell, Hip Hop building block side of jazz.”
