Emerging East L.A.-based rapper/songwriter Proclaim returns with two songs from his stash.

The first song “The Shadow” addresses the delicate issue of mental health and suicide. Over a sombre, vocal-driven soundscape, Proclaim details how people affected by these issues cope from day to day and how the larger society tends to oversee them. Proclaim however takes time to show empathy and relay the situation to a wider audience with a nuanced and profound perspective.

“Personal Expressions – Remix” is the next track and has an upbeat and bright sound with lush guitar riffs and warm textures underpinned by punchy boom-bap drums. Proclaim shares a handful of events filled with colourful characters that walk in and out of his life as he tries to find his footing.
