“Breath of Life” is the first musical edition from rapper/spoken word artist Otis Mensah‘s #OtisMensahExists. The track has a nice soulful texture with soft mellow drums that serve as the perfect backdrop for Mensah’s off the cuff,m stream of consciousness style. The record also features Hemlock Ernst (Future Islands) who delivers a solid verse towards the end of the joint. The track sees both acts exploring themes such as anxiety, fear, and claustrophobia from a very unique viewpoint.

Mensah delivers some vivid lyrics such as “…The stairwell plays minor scale /my pride impaled and dreams for sale /leave stale or see me sail watch me sink or see me hailed…” while Ernst goes for a more spoken word approach.
