Grime veteran emcee Maxwell D comes through with a solid revamp of his 2010 track “Serious,” aptly titled “Serious 2020”, the rapper links up with the best in Grime from the old to the new with features from Capo Lee, Novelist, So Large, Bruza and Tempa T. The track is brazen and packs a lot of punches with its frenzied production and fiery flows from all the emcees.

Directed by the film’s legendary British directors, actors, and Grime pioneers Femi Oyeniran and Nicky ‘Slimting‘ Walker, the accompanying music video is a celebration of Black British music heritage with a key focus on the early days of Grime. Tapping into the nostalgic spirit of the film (AGAINST ALL ODDS) and original track, the video brings to life famous images from early grime pioneers like Dizzy Rascal, Wiley, Kano and more.

Maxwell D reshoots scenes from the original video and references two of the most iconic album covers of the time while Capo Lee jumps into Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Boy In Da Corner‘ artwork and So Large portrays Wiley’s ‘Playtimes Over‘. Lastly, Bruza recreates the cover art for Tinchy Stryder’s iconic RWD Magazine cover.
