As M-Dot prepares to embark on yet another European tour, he drops the visuals for the song “The Atonement” which sees him teaming up with the legendary NY producer Pete Rock. The two met in 2017 and built a relationship which led to them working on this solid collaboration which blends crunchy dark soundscapes from Pete Rock while M-Dot flexes his verbal biceps with lines like “Pen’s divine, wrapped around the lungs with steel, the raw under your skin, decayed fungus nail/Men, you washed out, hanging from my clothesline, bag’em with a clothesline for singing all of them ghost rhymes”. Since its release, the song (and M-Dot’s vocals) went on to be sampled by DJ Premier on Logic‘s Def Jam/Universal release “Vinyl Days.”

Fast forward to the present and the gritty soundscape gets the visual treatment with a haunting, film noir black and white video directed by Rayymond, adding the perfect contextual layer to this moody anthem.

In addition to Pete Rock, egO anD The eneMy 2: A Dissolute Paradise boasts production and guest appearances from the likes of Erick Sermon, Apollo Brown, !llmind, Black Milk, G-Koop, Willie The Kid, Vast Aire and more. The Limited Collector’s Edition Splash Vinyl is available now via M-Dot’s Bandcamp.
