South African emcee/producer A-Reece‘s new project Today’s Tragedy, Tomorrow’s Memory is a 13-track body of work that showcases both his lyrical prowess and production proficiency. The project is a follow-up to 2019’s project Reece Effect and shows how much work the rapper has put in in a short amount of time.

A-Reece is a rapper’s rapper and doesn’t try to sugar coat his thoughts or sacrifice his lyrical integrity and from the jump he lets the listener know he is not horsing around. In “Mark 15:35” he opens the project on a retrospective note, he puts his heart on wax over a nostalgic jazzy horn and somber backdrop. This is followed by the soulful and bravado-laded “HIBACHI” where he drops back-to-back gems with an undeniable swag. He switches it up on “Nightmare on Bryanston Dr” with a dark, off-beat trap backdrop and any vocal effects while on “No Man’s Land” he treats us to another round of conscious tale, and this time he dives into the domino effects of the prison system and gun violence. A-Reece shows quite a wide range of styles from soulful-boom-bap to experimental trap while the topic runs the gamut of topics from relationships, love, urban and societal issues, and more.
