Being led on by a loved one can sting, but it’s usually the clarity that comes after that hurts the most. The pain of regret and the sweat of building castles on transient clouds are unbearable and mind-numbing. In her new single, “Burning Pockets Of Love”, Norwegian singer/songwriter Mathilde Widding puts all of these pent-up emotions on wax. The track is a slow contemporary pop/rock ballad that highlights Widding’s vocal range and style, which finds her delivering emotionally powerful melismatic vocal runs with profound lyrics.

Alone he gotta stand
For lonely is a man only
He aught to choose carefully
When it comes to you and me
I ain’t opening no, more doors
You know it downing from time to time

She digs deep into the wounds and dissects the emotional betrayal with surgical precision, which turns into a path to triumph as she rebuilds her confidence with certainty and a dash of defiance.

“Burning Pockets Of Love” is taken from her forthcoming album.
