Finally we get a taste of what to come from the sequel to 80 blocks from Tiffany’s, which is the project spearheaded by legendary producer Pete Rock and the bronx bombers Camp Lo. On the first mixtape what we got was a retro fitted, bass heavy, hard hitting sound, a handful of remixes and to be honest very very few missteps.

I stumbled upon a vine video from Pete Rock at the private listening session hoping to catch something but to my chagrin he made the sounds indiscernible and whatnot so a single is something i have been anticipating for a minute now. With that being said, Megan Good is what I would call a slow burner. It’s funky, mellow and somewhat catchy- the various thespian references did help tie the title and the song itself( I have it when artists name a song after a famous individual/character and the song itself has pretty much nothing to do with said title).  I will admit that I’m not a huge fan of Mac Miller and in my opinion he doesn’t really bring anything to the table besides some funny lines here and there.

This is not what I expected but I wasn’t disappointed and I still have high hopes for  80 Blocks from Tiffany’s pt II.

On July 30th, 2013 Pete Rock & Camp Lo will be releasing 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II: a collaborative mixtape that mark’s Pete Rock’s inaugural foray into the mixtape game for the first time during his illustrious 20+year career.

80 Blocks From Tiffany’s Pt. II includes guest appearances from Ab-Soul, Talib Kweli, M.O.P., Uncle Murda and Mac Miller who guests on the ode to “Megan Good”.
