Digi Crates Records had become known in the scene for putting out Nujabes-inspired modal, conscious hip-hop, and so when we learned of the label not only refusing to pay royalties to its artists and neglecting to send out orders to fans, but to actually scam people using Nujabes music (definitely read this, as it explains the whole story), Word Is Bond has no choice but to withdraw all support for the Digi Crates Records label and releases by no longer reporting their releases and by removing all previous articles featuring Digi Crates on the site. It’s a tremendous shame considering there has been some genuinely good music put out but, not only does Nujabes’ legacy deserve to be preserved and held in the highest esteem, in the underground integrity comes first and foremost and we cannot support an organisation that displays such disrespect for artists, their fans and their inspirations.
