Denver-born emcee, producer, hip-hop artist 6ixth Element and revered lyricist A-F-R-O‘s song “Kill the Phantom” gets a remix courtesy of producer Shinigami Eyes. The new version employs a solemn violin sample with punchy drums and phantom-related vocal samples from several movies.

 

 

 

Shimizu x Luminiah x Charlotte Colace – “MinuteSpent”

 

Brazilian producer and multi-instrumentalist Rafa Mura‘s music project Shimizu continues to showcase his versatility and in the new release “MinuteSpent”, he teams up with Luminiah and Charlotte Colace. The result is a genre-bending R&B-infused cut ripe with rich alluring melodies and hypnotic drum groove.

 

SomeoneCalledSomeone – “All I’ve Ever Wanted”

SomeoneCalledSomeone returns with his new single “All I’ve Ever Wanted”, a heartfelt and reflective tune about self-growth and how past mistakes can edge one to the right path if lessons are learned.

 

 

G.A.D & Shoji x Adolphus Scottie Scott – “LOYAL”

Producers G.A.D & Shoji team up with vocalist Adolphus Scottie Scott for this uplifting love ballad “LOYAL”. The guitar-driven tune is underpinned by Adolphus’ rich melodic runs and adulation-filled lyrics that pay homage to that special someone who brings him joy.

 

 

RAY BLK – “Courage”

 

UK/Nigerian singer/songwriter RAY BLK delivers her new single “Courage” to our earshot. The track is bolstered by Ray Michael‘s solemn piano arrangement underpinned by a classic drum break and RAY BLK’s commanding vocal runs and engaging songwriting. Here she recounts a harrowing experience with an ex who emotionally abused her with numerous gaslighting tactics to try to control her.

 

 

Abba Lang x Camilla Simon x Flowdaddy – “Champions”

Berlin-based Ugandan artist Abba Lang teams up with vocalist Camilla Simon and Flowdaddy for this anthemic aspirational tune “Champions”. As the title suggests, it’s all about triumph and reaching the pinnacle after putting in all the work. The rock-infused hip-hop production is punchy, and cinematic and evokes pure adrenal-fuelled action while the uplifting lyrics will push audiences to go out and chase their dreams.

 

 

E-lawtics – “Wishing Star”.

 

Rapper/songwriter E-lawtics gets into reflective mode as he drops “Wishing Star”. The track comprises moody orchestral strings and a classic drum break underpinned by his adulation-filled lyrics where he talks about his dream girl and all the attributes she possesses. E-lawtics has been in the Nigerian hip-hop scene for decades and has been a member of groups like Vibro 365, X-chronics, and Peaceville. and released two mixtapes under his belt.

Preed One and NY emcee Ruste Juxx put in the much-needed “Work” in their latest release. Backed by the menacing soundscape provided by Preed One, Ruste Juxx steps up with his well-known authoritative cadence and bravado as he breaks down his work ethic while clearing out all doubts. Fdluxx x Taurean Sax x Liv Averie – “Call Me”

Producer Fdluxx recruits sax player Taurean Sax and vocalist Liv Averie for this jazz-soul-hip-hop-infused jam titled “Call Me”. Backed by the rich and soul-stirring soundscape crafted by Fdluxx, Liv delivers a gripping vocal performance ripe with emotions and yearning.

 

Lamont Jackson – “Levitate”

Singer Lamont Jackson comes through with “Levitate”, a feel-good jam that is perfect for that good old family BBQ party.

 

Kiseme – “Never Thought (Dream Big)”

Kiseme is back in the forefront with “Never Thought (Dream Big)”, an aspirational tune bolstered by sombre jazzy textures and the rapper’s uplifting lyricism about chasing one’s goals.

 

 

Dana Harper – “Wood Burnt Orange”

Dana Harper‘s “Wood Burnt Orange” is a heartwarming piece that explores the feeling of love and how emotions change as one finds comfort and hope in the arms of that special someone. Dana’s vivid songwriting takes the cake as she vividly details that feeling that can’t be explained.

 

Dad Bodi – “Sunkist”

Dad Bodi and TommyxBoi share “Sunkist”, a song taken from their collaborative album. The track has a soulful sample with punchy trap drums underpinned by fiery raps from both emcees.

 

 

Viktor Harter – “Let ’em Fly”

Viktor Harter and John Don team up for “Let ’em Fly”, a heartfelt track that dives into the concept of fighting for one’s rights and the need to follow one’s dreams in an unforgiving world.

Dane Diamond enters our playlist with this insightful piece titled “BLACK”. The title is a reference to several things that range from Dane’s favourite colour, and his roots and the aim to break the negative views that society places on the term. South-West London-based singer/songwriter Kalila enters our playlist with the new single “Faded Blue” which explores the essence of love in the strict sense. The soul-jazz-infused ballad showcases her rich sublime vocals and heartfelt songwriting that shows the complexities of falling in love and the beautiful emotions that come along with it. The song is produced by Steve Knight.

 

Sicko – “GBH (do you ever just)”

 

East England-based rapper Sicko delivers a fiery and menacing tune titled “GBH (do you ever just)”. Bolstered by a dark and sinister soundscape peppered with a classic drum break and stark piano chord, Sicko pours raw anger on wax. If there was ever a pissed-off anthem, this is it.

 

 

 

 

Culture Jam – “Can’t Get Enough”

 

“Can’t Get Enough” is a bouncy tune from Culture Jam which caught our ears with their expressive and unapologetic style. Over a chant-driven soundscape comprising sparse grooves and bare-bones arrangement, audiences get a whiff of a rich bravado rap style.
