With an ambiguous title such as Electronica, you may be wondering what to expect from the duo called The Code. I, myself wasn’t quite sure where this listen will go once I hit the play button but that was answered right away from the first 30 seconds (yes I do have such patience). Electronica is a mixed bag, a pot pourri of genres, it has that early 90s tech/trance vocal vibes, trap influenced drums and snappy percussion along with short vocal samples to match. I do tend to get the ‘electronic’ genre classification misconstrued at times so do forgive any errors but besides that The Code definitely serve up nothing but pure gold with Electronica.

Hit the play button and give it a listen.

The Code is an artist/producer duo currently based in the UK. “Electronica” is from the duo’s forthcoming mixtape. Here’s an explanation from The Code on their new single.

Electronica is a music genre encompassing a wide range of contemporary electronic music designed for a wide range of uses, including foreground listening, some forms of dancing, and background music for other activities. Unlike electronic dance music (EDM), not all examples of electronica are necessarily made for dancing.[ The genre is loosely defined and has different connotations in different regions and time periods.
