As we venture into the 3rd week of April with maximum speed, we also made sure to collate some interesting records from our submission lists. It’s been a hard ride but we are not relenting when it comes to this. We cannot do this without y’all so please support all the artists featured here.

Del The Funky Homosapien + Amp Live – Help (ft. Adult Karate)

Del The Funky Homosapien and Amp Live have teamed up for “GATE 13”. The full-length collaborative album pairs The Hieroglyphics veteran and Grammy nominee with the Zion I and unified highway co-founder. After working together during amp’s authorized Radiohead Remix Project, these friends from their Oakland days embark on 15 tracks that fuse Hip-Hop, Funk, EDM and more with guests including Goapele and Eligh. The first leak off the project is the record titled “Help” featuring Adult Karate.

Verbal Kent & Superior (feat. Vic Spencer & Sonnyjim) – Go Get The Dank.

Chicago wordsmith Verbal Kent (Ugly Heroes) and Spanish-German beat maker Superior release an animated video for “Go Get The Dank” off their collaboration album “Half My Life“. The track features Vic Spencer and Sonnyjim, and the video is animated by Brandon Webb of Foxx Called Moon Films.

Verbal Kent says: “I felt like Superior passed me this ominous, minimal beat the needed more than one vocal perspective. I have a totally different approach to both Vic Spencer & Sonnyjim, and yet couldn’t respect their crafts more. I think we all bodied this in our own way, and that’s what makes it unique.”

Cherry Entafield – True

We switched things up with this afro-influenced joint from Lagos based rapper, dancer, spoken word poet who goes by the name Cherry Entafield. The mellow track sees the multi-talented act flip between English and pidgin English as she raps and sings her way through the track. The love-laden record is her first studio recording and is a true expression of self as she explains that the song “…simply means be true and you will find someone who loves with your crazy and not trying to change you.

Cherry Entafield besides being a rapper, dancer and spoken word poet is also a Dentist. She has performed her unique brand of poetry infused with dance on many stages

Dead Hippie – Red Nose Pitbull.

18 year old rapper/producer Dead Hippie delivers his offbeat brand of hip-hop with his latest release titled “Red Nose Pitbull”. Over a mellow, somber piano loop, the young emcee kicks vivid unorthodox lyrics with reckless abandon. He has opened for such artists as King Lil G, Kirk Knight, and Nyck Caution and opened for Maxo Kream and Cuz Lightyear on April 5th. Tee Krispil – Badangadang

After dropping the fiery “Let It Slide” a few months back, Tee Krsipil returns with a new one titled “Badangadang”.  The record is all about women standing up and being strong in their power.  On the record her producer Moxsa (aka Ari James) brings old school flavor with new school sounds to create a unique sonic experience that’s reminiscent of the 90’s but relevant to today’s hip-hop.

Tee’s thoughts on the new video:
This single is about being the boss bitch that you are. You don’t need a man, and you also don’t need me to tell you that. You’re smart enough to know this already. “Badangadang” isn’t about making women strong, women are already strong, it’s about remembering this truth.

Tee’s EP One Way Ticket will be dropping summer 2018, and the project is laced with metaphor, style, and musicality.
