It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. Trizz x Sahtyre – “Hands Clean”

Los Angeles based rappers Trizz and Sahtyre released a collaboration EP titled Hades and now they return with the visual for their previously released single “Hands Clean“. The Burnin’ Giraph produced track has a dark and cinematic feel as the duo delivers solid bars. The visual Justin Carney and Edited by Cassidy Howell has a cryptic aesthetic and captures the duo in an unknown location.

Tamara Bubble – “Peep Peep”.

Tamara Bubble is back with his fiery style of hip-hop as she drops a vibrant track titled “Peep Peep”. The rapper comes through and delivers a passionate performance over the upbeat backdrop produced by Lafayette Beatz.

Jehdi – “E=MC2”.

Jehdi is all about the lyrics and the culture on his new track titled “E=MC2”. Backed by a smooth, cinematic backdrop, he shuts down the fake woke individuals who try to deceive others.

 Swamp Thing – “Stunning Speeds”

 

Toronto’s three-headed rap group, Swamp Thing (Timbuktu, Chokeules & Savilion) delivery a spooky, horror-themed album for Halloween and drop this dark single titled “Speeds”. Produced by Swamp Thing’s own Savilion and Timbuktu, the emcees take the listener into the fog with off-kilter lyrics and an edgy demeanor.

MeRCY – “Shotgun Pump Freestyle”

MeRCY returns with a short freestyle over Snoop Dogg‘s classic “Pump” instrumental in order to gear up for his new project, The Overgrowth EP, hit the play button and get familiar.

 

 

 

 

Ben Hunter – “Help”

 

UK hip-hop act Ben Hunter teams up with vocalist Asher Grey on this poignant open letter to the general public. Over a solemn piano-driven backdrop, he details the everyday struggles people face as they try to keep their heads above water. The video shows the various types of people you’d meet in the capital and how despite our subtle differences, we all are trying to achieve the same thing in this age of political uproar stemming from Brexit.

Ben’s determination, true grit and ability to connect with his audience at a conscious level sets him apart from his competition. His previous single ‘Hope’ was used to campaign for the charity CALM, to help raise awareness of male suicide rates in the UK. Get “Help” on Spotify.

 

 

 

Jesse Pringle – “The Realest”

Jesse Pringle shares the video for his single “The Realest”. The track has a mellow, piano-driven backdrop that allows Pringle to speak on the way these modern rappers tend to overcompensate for lack of certain attributes from talking loud and acting tough just to get clicks and attention. He adds that “I wanted to create a song that could define who I am not just as an artist but most importantly as a person...”

HARRIETT is a California-based duo made up of  Damani Nkosi and Ill Camille. Their new release “Alive” is a smooth, soulful piece that displays their insightful lyrics over a groovy beat. Alongside the duo is the vocalist Thandi Ntuli who comes through with an alluring hook to tie it all together.

DatKid Smoove x OdeToSaturday – “Heaven’s Above”

Bay Area Born, Las Vegas raised DatKid Smoove, OdeToSaturday & Eric Bui team up to deliver a heartwarming track “Heaven’s Above” that everyone can relate to. Backed by a smooth, solemn piano-driven backdrop, they share stories of life, love, and loss. He adds that “What is real, will always prosper and the message that their people always triumph over the material ideal of now”. The visual is very reflective and also pays homage to the late Nipsey, Mac & a few that have given all for music.

Newport News, Virginia based Emanuel Brown is out to be the best on his new track “Legendary”. Backed by a vibrant trap-infused beat, he doesn’t waste time in letting the listener know how hard he is working to get to the apex. Joining him on the uplifting track is emcee J. Symone who adds her own perspective and both emcees keep it a hundred as he doesn’t mince his words
Aside from being a musical artist and songwriter, he produces music and provides insight and advice to fellow artists to cultivate artist development.

MEI – “I’m Certain”

Multi-talented singer/songwriter MEI bursts through our pages with eclectic vibes on her new single “I’m Certain”. The vibrant piece which is produced and co-written with Danio Forni Jr (Husky Loops) and Joy Anonymous has a nice soulful feel to it and the ante is raised by her unique melodic style which grips the ears from start to finish.
MEI is currently working on her debut project slated for release later on. MEI sang backing vocals alongside Brian Eno, Karl Hyde, and Jools Holland as well as supporting Little Simz at her Roundhouse Rising Festival with LVNA earlier this year. Get it on Spotify.

 

 

 

Savage The Poet – “The Champ Is Here”

Savage The Poet closes the list with an anthemic track titled “The Champ Is Here”. The beat he uses is hard-hitting which serves as the perfect backdrop for his lyrical proclamation. He adds that the track is about claiming your title and championship in spite of obstacles or enemies.
