It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions.  Anon – Heard What I Heard.

UK emcee Anon takes us deep into the darkest regions on his new gripping single “Heard What I Heard ” which features vocalist, Mike Pankhurst. The solemn track dwells on mental health and its domino effect on lives in general. Anon penned the song after he tried to take his own life several times within a short period. Having had enough of the frustration, picking up a pen was his only option to convey his feelings. Produced by AnTiLiFe, the bittersweet chorus hook, which comes courtesy of Mick Pankhurst lays a melodic foundation for the stripped back delivery from Anon as he tells the listener just how easy it can be to spot signs someone is contemplating suicide, by openly talking about his own personal experiences.

 

 

Sal Dulu – Buzzcut.

Sal Dulu teams up with ATL based lyricist Stahhr on his new single titled “Buzzcut”. The experimental styled record blends jazz, classical elements, and hip-hop into one solid composition.  Over the progressive and dynamic soundscape, Stahhr delivers stunning graphic verses that tap into the natural intellect and spiritual parts of the mind.

“Buzzcut” is a follow up from his solo piano composition, “Xompulse”, released in January this year.

 

 

Baileys Brown – Reeboks featuring Axel Holy, Stinking Slumrok & Datkid.

Bristol producer Baileys Brown teams up with Stinkin Slumrok and recent High Focus signing, Datkid on his new record titled “Reeboks”. An offbeat record that sounds like a blend of gloomy futuristic elements and vintage boombap vibes. Each emcee sure comes through with their individual styles that range from animated to laid back. Also on the track is Brown’s rap alter ego who goes by the moniker, Axel Holy. Straying from the norm the track is wavey, glitchy and distorted which provides an ideal snapshot of why Brown has become one of the most intriguing producers in the game right now.

 

 

 

 

Fabian Secon – Small.

UK singer-songwriter Fabian Secon delivers his newest single “Small”. A soothing, uplifting record that aims to elevate the listener. Backed by a very melodic and pop-R&B driven sound, the song sure packs a lot of emotional punch behind it. “Small” is taken from his upcoming five-track EP ‘I See Things Others Can’t’. Bells and Robes – House Of Mirrors (feat. Jus MaRx.)

Based out of Atlanta, GA – Bells and Robes deliver a dark cinematic vibe on their new song “House Of Mirrors”. The song focuses on a character Edvardo who takes a profound look into his past in order to make peace with the darkness within him to better his future. The song also features Jus MaRx on the hook.
Combining lush synth work reminiscent of Flume, organic textures and percussion a la Bonobo, and a flair for abstract styles like Flying Lotus – the duo has created a sound that seeks to stay in tune with the continual merging of technology, nature, and humanity.

 

 

 

60 East – Almost Summer.

As the hottest season approaches, 60 East and producer Phil the Pain are already getting ready as they drop their summer tribute “Almost Summer”. Over a mellow soulful backdrop 60 East sums up the Spring season by detailing the events that come in said season from March Madness to Coachella.

 

 

 

 

Dax – Did It First.

Dax keeps on pushing the envelope as shown on his newest video for his single “Did It First.” The video starts off on a cinematic note with an aerial shot of the city and also captures faces of the city dwellers in a documentary styled shot. The song doesn’t come in till the 1:20 mark and we get to see Dax in his element as he breaks down his grind and comeuppance. “Did It First.” is off his first EP called ‘It’s Different Now’

 

 

 

LIV †_musiq – Unbothered.

Indie singer/songwriter LIV †_musiq ‘s new single ” Unbothered” is all about taking a backseat from all the stress of life or pandering to other people’s wishes. Over a smooth, laid back soulful backdrop she expresses her desires to be free of all the pressures but more importantly be outspoken and confident at all times.
Her music is a reflection on love, what it means to be black and outspoken and as well as what it takes to get out of your own way and be whoever you want.

Ray Emmanuel – Before I’m Gone….

Budding emcee Ray Emmanuel is a 14-year-old rap prodigy who caught our ears with his new uplifting single titled ” Before I’m Gone….”. The Louisburg, North Carolina based rapper is all about positivity laced with good vibes as displayed on the song. Over a mellow, soulful soundscape he talks about achieving dreams and goals, brotherhood love and much more.
” Before I’m Gone….”. is also a tribute to the late great Nipsey Hussle.

He was hand selected by Bernice King (daughter of Martin Luther King Jr.) to perform on MLK Day at their families church which was live streamed worldwide on CBS. He will also be performing at ACL Fest come October with an expected attendance of 450,000 people.

 

 

 

Anthony Danza – “At All Costs”

Westcoast Emcee & Producer Anthony Danza newest visuals “At All Costs” harks back to the 80s with its anthemic textures and visual aesthetics to match. The track is a solid showcase of lyricism as Danza delivers bravado bars from a minute and a half. Straight killer no filler if you asked us. He is currently prepping to drop his official tape ‘The BSS Diaries’ on 5/28!

Paper Thieves – Viganella.

The 5 men experimental neo-soul band Paper Thieves share the visuals for their new single “Viganella”. The record is a vibrant blend of soul and pop vibes that is both heartwarming and uplifting. Helmed by lead singer Leah whose honeyed vocals cascade effortlessly over the lush synths and reflective keys. The visual is quite entertaining with its vintage aesthetics using puppets running amok across town. Viganella is the first single release of the band’s upcoming EP  koumpounophobia, to be released in July,

Paper Thieves is a five-headed psychedelic soul project with roots in New Zealand, Turkey, and Germany.
