After gifting fans with a handful of singles, Jamaican emcee Five Steez unveils his new collaborative EP, Re: Emergence, with producer Chosen One. The 7-track project breaks Five Steez’s musical hiatus as he ventured into other activities outside the entertainment space.

The title is a reference to his journey, his legacy and stance in the game as he continues to push his creative endeavours. In his own words, “Now, going forward, I’m going to be doing more than I’ve been doing over the past few years.”

With that being said,  the project is one for the books and opens up on a high note with “Blocka.” Here, Five Steez updates his audience about his journey and experiences while reminding them that he is back for good.

“I had to hit the pavement, plus work the blogs It took me out the country, that’s my word to God And I’m recognised in places that I never stepped I get respect so my ratings higher than Mount Everest”

This is followed by the single “Keep It Blazing,” “Strait Darts,” and “Show and Prove.” These tracks highlight Five Steez’s lyrical expertise. Honed and moulded by his surroundings, Five Steez embodies his Jamaican roots while showing reverence for hip-hop culture. He doesn’t fake his cadence, flow, or vocal tone, and he stays true to himself. On “Current Dayz,” he shares his thoughts on the current state of affairs. From poverty, never-ending struggles and strife in the rat race, Five Steez reflects on how far humanity has fallen and hopes everyone wakes up and does the needful.
The project closes out with “Live and Learn” and “Anything Is Possible,” where Five Steez delivers commentary on growth, self-belief and the power of perseverance in an unforgiving world.

Overall, this is a welcomed return of Five Steez who continues to push the hip-hop culture in Jamaica.
