Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we will be looking at some exceptional visuals from various acts from around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades and through the 90s and 2000s, it has taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

iiiBEREALZ – “Gangsters Paradise”.

East London rapper/songwriter iiiBEREALZ explores the dynamics of fatherhood in “Gangsters Paradise”. The soulful track produced by 2kBeats sees iiiBEREALZ reflecting on his path as a responsible father and the joys of being there for his daughter as opposed to being on the streets. The visual by Eazy Visuals follows the rapper as he plays an important role in the life of his daughter, showing her the ropes and learning alongside her.

 

Santino Le Saint x Nippa x Col3trane – “Moviestar”

 

“Moviestar” is a new collaboration that brings together Santino Le Saint , Nippa and Col3trane who deliver a refreshing modern R&B/hip-hop infused jam. Each artist delivers seamless and expressive performances ripe with engaging lyricism and catchy melodies. The visual style captures the trip in different spots as they chill with their crew.

 

 

BNXN – “Phenomena”.

Afro-fusion star Bnxn shares the visuals for his new release “Phenomena”. The dance-infused afro pop tune is a tribute to that special someone who has his attention and is another showcase of his versatility as a singer. Armed with his distinct vocal tone and expressive cadence, Bnxn delivers another solid effort and it also comes with a brilliant and well-crafted visual that taps into the concept of seizing the day and basking in every moment life brings.

 

 

Camira the Rapper – “Skyline” featuring Grace Chia

 

Camira the Rapper teams up with vocalist Grace Chia for this introspective and heartwarming track titled “Skyline”. Backed by a soul-stirring and solemn backdrop, both artists deliver solid performances anchored on self reflection and growth while looking at the past with a renewed spirit. From self-doubt to confidence and the power of human resilience, Camira shows his progression as a young man and an artist. Grace also comes through with her rich and commanding vocal runs which adds an extra emotional layer to the track. The visuals are shot in back and white and use subtle and engaging set pieces that show the duo’s growth.

 

ILL KNOB – “Tell em where you from” (feat. Champ MC)

Ill KNOB  is back with something new “Tell em where you from” which sees him teaming up with Champ MC aka Champ Diva.  The production is punchy and anthemic and sees both emcees in their element as they flex their verbal muscles. The visual also taps into their respective energies and styles and uses performance shots and smooth transitions to complete the job.

 

 

AlexandreTheGreat – “Praying Under The Moonlight At 3 AM”.

UK rapper/songwriter AlexandreTheGreat caught our attention with his latest effort “Praying Under The Moonlight At 3 AM”. Backed by a cinematic horn arrangement and sparse drum groove, the rapper delivers a reflective-filled performance ripe with engaging lyrics that dig deep into his thoughts and daily struggles. The accompanying visuals use extremely dark lighting and moody aesthetics that tie into the solemn mood of the song.

 

FREEHUEY X John Jigg$ – “The Baddest”

FREE HUEY and John Jigg$ team up for “The Baddest”, a fiery bravado-laden rap over a soulful soundscape. The visual uses special effects, performance shots underpinned by lyrics and a bit of animation to drive home the message.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fliptrix – “Dragonfly”

 

Veteran UK rapper Fliptrix returns with visuals for his song “Dragonfly”, a heartfelt tune that pays tribute to his loved ones and those close to him. The production by Illinformed is solemn and relaxing while Fliptrix’s vivid lyricism and relatable theme of appreciation and motivation play the center role. The visual style is quite cinematic and follows Fliptrix in an undisclosed exotic location. The track is the title track of his tenth full-length studio album.

 

 

 

ptmWOK – “ALL OVER”

 

Emerging rapper ptmWOK shares the visuals for his song “ALL OVER”. The track has a dreamy and nostalgia-inducing vibe and sees the rapper detailing his many moves as he chases the bag. The visual style uses simple performance shots with quick transitions and subtle visual effects.

 

 

 

 

KOJ – “LOVE IS…”.

 

Prolific rapper/songwriter KOJ pours out his heart and frustrations in his new single “LOVE IS…”. The record details the recent race-related tensions and riots in the UK following the stabbings of 4 children. Over a stark and gloomy soundscape, KOJ shares his thoughts on the domino effect leading to immigrant and racial attacks and the breakdown of unity. He ultimately finds the reason which is the lack of love and implores us to do more.  The black and white visuals add an emotional punch to the track as well.
