Rising rapper/songwriter Pavy brings his life on record with the release of his new project titled The Bachelor. The 9-track body of work sees him reflecting on the life of a single adult black man dating in the city of angels. From the various dating situations, potential love interests, and past flames to baring his true thoughts on bachelorhood, the project sure gives listeners a true insight into what makes Pavy tick.

“Being Single Is Complicated” is the opening track and sets the tone as Pavy brings us into his world and how he traverses the dating scene. Over the sombre and sublime backdrop, he shares a tale of a potential lover and their 6 degrees of separation.

“Wine by the Fireplace” is a chilled sensual track that paints a steamy session between Pavy and an unknown lady who caught his eye. He shares with us her endearing attributes ranging from her intellect and her voluptuous figure. Here, Pavy sets the mood right with the right drink and situation where a certain type of magic is created. On “Flights To Nashville”, we take a trip with Pavy as he breaks down his itinerary and the many events he and his potential lady experienced together. This is followed by “My Routine (Wally’s)”, a soft R&b infused track featuring vocalist ImJaeHall. The mellow record gives us another glimpse into Pavy’s life as a bachelor living his life and taking baby steps with love. As the title suggests, he already has a regiment and the effort to include a dime piece into the situation is tempting but requires much work. Lines like “Was talking to my home girl the other day/She told me I could use a woman’s love in my place/I oblige, guess I could, putting up walls still I would” also paint a picture of being a Chad enjoying each moment with no care in the world. The fun continues on the smooth grooves of “Love It For Yourself” which is a collaboration with Glasses Malone and C.Rich where the artists give their respective ladies the taste of the good life and implore them not to worry about nothing and just enjoy the moment.

The project continues with the bachelor theme on tracks like “Nobu Malibu” and “Chicago Girl”. The former is an ode to the high-end Japanese restaurant chain and alludes to how he treats his ladies while the latter is a reflective tune about his past flame in Chi-town and the good times they had. The project closes out with “Soft Lips” and “Whatever”, 2 tracks that run the project to a halt with their distinct sounds. “Soft Lips”  is a smooth blend of R&B/hiphop aesthetics and its underpinned by Pavy’s heartfelt lyrics “Whatever” is Pavy embodying bachelorhood with much gusto and swag as he reminds his ladies that he is a grown man and he has abundance mindset so no one is tying him down anytime soon.

Overall, The Bachelor is a snapshot of Pavy’s love life which extends to other things from finding his true self and staying true to his word like a man should. It’s an engaging body of work that dives into self-discovery and him seizing the day and making the best out of it.
