Singer, songwriter and producer Odeal caught our ears with his new single “You, The World Vs Me”. The soulful ballad dwells on heartbreak, the aftermath and the process of healing that will eventually come with it. Over a solemn guitar backdrop, Odeal reflects on emotional pain, mental gymnastics and hurdles he and his partner had to go through as the world watches on the sidelines. From finding peace and light in his partner to being thrown into the darkness by the same person, he comes to the realization that even though he is caught up in turmoil, the world seems to just move as if it weren’t aware and that alone gave him a new insight to how to approach his pain.

Born in Germany, the 23-year-old musician was raised between Nigeria, Spain and the UK and has been immersed in diverse cultures his whole life. His varied upbringing has led to his fusion of Alte, R&B and Afro, fast-tracking him into becoming the voice to watch out for over the past few years. Along the way, Odeal has worked with artists such as Nines, Enny, K-Trap and Gabzy, to name a few, and has proven how valuable a verse from him can be. On his solo material, he has developed a fiercely individual sound and established himself as a formidable force, selling out three shows one after another with his Ovmbr brand at the forefront.

Notable career highlights include co-signs from BBC Radio 1’s Victoria Jane, BBC 1xtra and Represent, as well as NME, Complex, Notion and Guap to name a few. Odeal has had one of the year’s most popular COLORS performances, has racked up over 10 million plays on ‘Coffee (Don’t Read Signs)’ and placed 12 on the UK industry engagement list. Singing to the heavens and becoming the romantic hitmaker we’ve been searching for, Odeal is prepping his legacy with more music to come.
