Rapper/educator Mr. Pope comes through with another knowledge filled record titled “Rise High”. Over a bouncy track that utilizes the classic Queen Latifah sample, he kicks bars about the strides black people were making in STEAM fields despite systemic racism and oppression. Mr. Pope explains further that the record was inspired after a discussion with his 5th grade class

Mr Pope is a reading teacher on the West side of Chicago in the Austin community who writes music that reflects his experiences as an educator and brother in the struggle for equality. Buried within each song is pain, hope, love, and joy, and the interactions and experiences that waken those emotions. His upcoming project titled “Lesson Plans” attempts to provide insight and inspiration to all involved in the struggle.

You can go and watch Mr. Pope perform on  June 21, 2018 between 5:00 – 6:30 at Maggie Daley Park Downtown Chicago for Make Music Chicago music festival.
