Nigerian/British emcee Modenine went digging in his vault and pulled out something dope from the archives n the form of the DJ Papercutt produced “Look What I Found”. The Project started in 2008 as a full length mixtape but the 2 parties, due to scheduling conflicts never got to finish it and instead said mixtape transformed into an EP.

Look What I Found is a loosie and a prelude to his full length project which drops sometime in February so expect just straight, heavy bars from the Ninestein himself. From the opening track aptly titled “The Opening”

“You do what puppies do, small dogs take a piss, randomly

trying to stick a trouble make a brand of me, all you do is talk BS and anger me

I dare one of y’all to lay a filthy hand on me, acting like a tough guy will land you next to Brandon Lee…”

You can tell the homie is not having it, the trend continues on subsequent tracks while the closer “Lagos To Jo Burg” sees Modenine narrating his experiences in the rap game, doing tours and name dropping a handful of notable African emcees/groups. On the flip side, DJ Papercutt is no slouch when it come to the beats, from crafting vibrant upbeat head nodders to soulful laid back gems, he helps keep the EP tightly woven in terms of the sonic backdrop. Simply put, each soundscape compliments Modenine and to quote the great Phontigallo…”dope beats and dope rhymes, what more do y’all want?”

Hit the play button and get familiar.

Modenine & Dj Papercutt started the recording of this project in 2008 . it started out as a mix-tape but due to their conflicting schedules they couldn’t finish more than 5 songs ( all produced by Dj papercutt ) .In 2016 the recorded ruff takes surfaced on an old hard drive , hence the title ” Look what i found”
