The Greatest Rapper Of All Time Died On March 9th“, this single quote will forever be etched in our consciousness and it’s quite unfortunate that the originator of said quote hasn’t gotten even props(Shouts to Canibus). That single line was indeed a rebuttal from ‘Bis to LL Cool J’s claim (also debatable) it also helped add fire to the raging question( Biggie passed away about a year before) of who’s the best emcees : Biggie, Jay Z and Nas. The real answer is best left to the fans so lets take some time in celebrating the late great Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G aka Biggie Smalls.
Notorious R.A.N as the same suggests is a solid reworking of some of BIG’s classic joints by Mega Ran. This is not Mega rapping over BIG instrumentals but a total reworking using the same samples and lyrics to fit the times. That right there is genius. “One More Chance” became “Lyrically I’m”, “Warning” is flipped into a funny case of a traffic stop. Hit the play button and get familiar.

It’s guaranteed to start a debate anywhere you go, so I’ll just say that MY favorite rapper, line for line, bar for bar, was Biggie, The Notorious BIG. Once I realized that we were 20 years to the day that he was tragically murdered, I got to work, with my favorite producers, DJ DN3 and Fresh Kils, and re-worked several of my favorite Biggie songs into new jams. Enjoy it now.
