Rising Devon-raised, Brighton-based rapper JED caught our attention with his latest single titled “Smokers”. The track is a vivid and reflective tale about a boy chatting up a girl in the smoking area of the pub. Over the soulful and somewhat warm backdrop, JED takes us on an engaging journey with a plethora of hilarious situations, off-kilter and vivid rhymes that would keep listeners locked from start to finish.

JED started out writing poetry at a very young age and this developed into making rap songs and performing live. This culminated in him posting weekly rap videos on Instagram and releasing singles as well which garnered him much attention.

The summer of 2022 saw more eyes and ears on JED than ever before after the release of his lively summer banger, “Tru Luv”.JED’s live performances touch on all of these topics in various ways. His engaging sets display a mixture of spoken word poetry, crowd engagement and even some mosh pits. As a result, he was regularly booked in 2022; supporting acts like dxvl, Joey Valance and Brae. Additionally, he has started his own events company, AGB, which showcases other talented underground artists around Brighton. Many of the AGB nights have given aspiring rappers their first taste of performing.
