Berlin-based, Philly-born rapper/producer Koncept Sparkz comes through with a smooth and upbeat single titled “What It Was.” The self-produced feel-good song is a blend of bravado and insightful bars and a carefree demeanor backed by the warm and punchy production.

“What It Was” is the first single off his forthcoming debut EP Deadline. The self-produced 5-track release is his solo outing birthed out of 2020’s lockdown. Sparkz weaves wordplay over his own throwback beats, inspired by rapper-producer legends like Dilla, Madlib, and Q-Tip. “What It Was” drops on all major streaming platforms on April 23rd.
