Anyone who knows me knows I fcks with the Black Jungle Squad heavily, and after getting a fair share of K-Embry, it’s back to Chicago‘s Jeremiah Jae who comes in with ‘Survival’. Typically you’ll get abstract lyricism and psychedelic production from Jae, but ‘Survival’ is a real contemplative – but hella nice – joint, with a heart-wrenchingly sombre beat. From the entering vocal snippet, Jae spits hard truths, and is joined by the supreme Oliver The 2nd. This is one of his earliest releases on Warp Records, and with an upcoming mixtape, features with L’Orange, and a place in the Warp SXSW showcase, I’m really excited for him. In fact I’m seeing him (and Madlib) in London end of April, can’t wait! One of my favourite producers and MCs definitely.

‘Survival’ is a free download; catch it after the jump.
