Emerging artist/rapper/producer JayMar Jamez makes his entry on TWIB on a very profound note as he releases his thought-provoking and history-laden single titled “JuneTeenth.” The track has an upbeat and somewhat solemn texture which serves as the right canvass for his deep thoughts on the history of blacks in America. Its obvious Jamez is well-versed in the topic at hand as he starts from the beginning of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and gives us a vivid insight into how the system was built to keep slaves at the bottom of the rung with laws and restrictions which filtered into the modern-day era. It is quite riveting and educative as well.

In his own words, this is his effort to give “A clear view of our history up to this point, a song that serves as education just as much as it serves to be a song to go out and protest too.”

“Born in Little Rock and raised in Los Angeles, JayMar has been one of those rare bread of musicians, fortunate enough to be able to excel at many talents since 2010.
