Sudanese-American hip-hop recording artist G-SALIH is not new to us and his new release “Pipe Dream” sees him reflecting on his past and the many events that shaped him. Backed by the moody and solemn production, he looks back at the journey and the hurdles he faced alongside the detractors, naysayers and obstacles he had to overcome to get to this point. He sure is not deterred as he acknowledges each step along the way with lines like “Took my L’s but L’s will always pay me back in double/I recollect when this beard was barely a half of stubble/Me stay and jamming in the honda, learning the heart of trouble” and continues with introspective bars that give listeners a glimpse into his train of thought.
