Who said the block party is dead? Jamie Strong co-founded the Do-Over with Aloe Blacc and Chris Haycock. Running for six years. The idea is simple, to make use of the California sunshine and throw a party away from all of the negatives associated with the Cities image-conscious night life. L.A. is home to some of the most creative producers in hip-hop and most have performed at the low budget event. Former performers include Flying Lotus and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Last month saw The Do-Over 2010 add to it’s L.A. base and transfer for one night only to Portland. One of my favourite DJ’s Ohmega Watts performed for the crowd and a recording of his live mix surfaced online:
