Independent rapper Elijah Rich is back in business as he unveils his new project Ten Thousand Hours. The ten-track project is chock full of cinematic and hard-hitting beats underpinned by expressive laidback flows akin to Larry June and curren$y with a unique twist.

“Coat In The Trunk Intro” has a spooky and ominous vibe and is anchored on Elijah Rich’s laidback and baritone flow and use of vivid rhyme schemes that drops listeners right in the middle of the action. From stry telling to bravado lines like “I bring the bands like a festival/My shit is stronger than a half a brick of Fentanol,” Elijah Rich ensures listeners will be engaged from start to finish. The next track, “Pray for You” continues with the gloomy, ominous vibe and comprises dark strings, pulcy bells with and prevalent bass-driven drum grooves. Here, Elijah Rich talks about the positive effects of patience. He shows us that he would rather run a marathon than a sprint to achieve his goals. Next up is “Achilles,” a rousing guitar-infused track with crunchy boombap drums and suspenseful textures. Lyrically, Elijah Rich steps into the podium with relatable and eye opening gems that listeners can grow on. Lines like “My circle real tight/I ain’t got too many close to me/Making money move but neve rmove emotionally/Stuck in yur mindset, stop moving locally/When I got the call it wasn’t what I hope to be,” underpin his mission statement as a true go-getter.

The project continues on the same energy, and the soundscapes always take listeners into different arenas but are still rooted in the original theme of the project. The aspirational “Don’t Push” talks about knowing the rules, breaking them to serve your purpose and seizing the day, while “Throwing Shade” looks at integrity and being cut from a different cloth than the perpetrators who deceive the masses. “Deja Vu” is a collaboration with brogawd, and both emcees look at the never-ending cycle of paying bills, securing the bad and staying ahead of the game. The final track, “Move” has smooth, soulful guitar licks layered over a punchy drum groove and sees Elijah Rich and rapper JOSH talk about making moves and creating without restrictions. It definitely helped bring the project to a close with its somewhat playful, positive and reflective vibe. Other notable tracks include the ominous “Blueface” featuring Dalton Noon, the dark trap anthem “FOMF” and  the revealing “Failure” where we get to see what really amkes Elijah Rich tick.
