Following up the release of his, ‘The Reset’ album, Apollo Brown gives us the method behind the music in this full length instrumental release. The head-nod factor on some of these beats is just crazy. Detroit stays steady releasing admirable efforts since the passing of that man Dilla. Black Milk, Guilty Simpson, Apollo Brown and others are really holding it down for the city. Soulful Premo-esque sampled beats mixed with heavy drums along with Brown’s ability to slow the album right down with a mellow beat, makes for a unique listening experience.
“The smooth, soulful instrumentals allow listeners to get a cleaner listen to the work of Apollo Brown. There is little doubt that fans will use the tracks to create their own remixes and mash-ups using their favorite rappers’ acapellas. Even without vocals, The Reset Instrumentals have enough catchy hooks and head-nodding riffs to warrant being a stand-alone album.”

“Apollo Brown is not finished for 2010; on the contrary, he will be involved with at least two more collaborations by the end of the year. These collaborations include but are not limited to the album Brown Study as half of the group UPS with Boog Brown, and the long-awaited Gas Mask LP as one-third of The Left with DJ SoKo and MC Journalist 103. ”
