Vanity Wyze and Sonny King are on the grind and follow through with their dreams on “Stayed Down”. The anthemic track is built on a punchy uplifting trap soundscape made up of lush guitars, ethereal synths, and punchy drum grooves. This is underpinned by Vanity Wyze’s energetic double-time flow and detailed lyrics about his journey in this game. From his lowly beginnings to his major wins, he takes listeners through the grime to the glitz as he prays that the good days last longer than the bad ones. Joining him on the record is singer Sonny King who blesses the chorus with a smooth melodic performance that enhances the evocative verses.

Shot in Charlotte, North Carolina the visual employs bright aesthetics and captures both artists doing what they do best. The director kept it simple and makes use of performance shots, seamless transitions and wide shots to accentuate the duo and their individual style. “Stayed Down” is taken from Vanity Wyze‘s 10 track body of work titled Vanity before Wyze. and was featured on the soundtrack to Lizzo’s hit TV show, Watch Out for the Big Grrrls.
