Five days ago, Drake released a song called Wu-Tang Forever, a song that’s on his album Nothing Was The Same (which was unfortunately leaked a week ago). In the track carries the sample It’s Yourz by the Wu-Tang Clan — with the ‘machine gun rap’ reference on the intro (which you’ll hear in Drake’s verse). Surprisingly… according to U-God‘s interview with Vibe Magazine, the WU is in support of the track — well, with the exception of Inspectah Deck.  He, who at first supported the move before hearing the track, now has a change of heart after listening to it. But first, listen to the tracks that are mentioned and you decide for yourself:
Drake – Wu-Tang Forever
Wu-Tang Clan – It’s Yourz

“They wanted us to remix it and get on there [so] you gon’ probably hear another one with us on it,” says U-God, shortly after landing in San Francisco to perform at Rock The Bells on Sunday. “Meth did his verse—we all did our verses. I wrote my rhyme in probably 15, 20 minutes. We were moving so fast we only had about four hours of studio time. If I had some time to really sit down and get juicy with it, I probably could’ve got juicier with it. But I still do a nice one, I still do a real banger.”

Obviously, the support for the track didn’t sit well with the fans as, you can see from the Wu Tang’s twitter response. Even U-God acknowledged the fact that WU heads are the harshest critics.

“Our fans are some of the hardest fucking critics ever,” he says with a chuckle. “You try something new, they get mad at you. I love my fans but we have some real meticulous hard fans… If I do a song with Prince, Wu-Tang fans are going to be mad. They really don’t like us meshing with nobody else. I tell my fans, you gotta let it ride. We want to get together with people and have fun, man. I’m tired of us being looked at like we’re unapproachable or antisocial. My Wu Tang fans need to chill and just let bygones be bygones.”

At this point in time, we’re not sure if the remix is going to make it on Drake’s album, nor know if Deck contributed his verse prior to listening to the track. Needless to say, Deck is sitting along the sidelines with the fans and set the record straight with those who thought he switched up.
