I’ve said this before too…and that’s why is so important for the MC to being able to fuse/ride the beat, in perfect harmony. Sounds basic but most artists nowadays when rhyming feel very disconnected, almost like the beat belongs to someone else.

When this is done right though……Notorious B.I.G is probably the more Notorious example and if you look at any of the hiphop greats dead or alive, do this they’re own way. Make that ish their’s to the point that if anyone else good or bad spits over it it’s impossible to surpass it…Mos can do this beautifully and the latest new cat that shows this in Spades in Jay Electronica on Exhibit C
