kind of lost, I love this song, but what is the reasoning of “real DJ’s don’t take requests”?
shouldn’t a good DJ be able to take requests for his/her audience? like.. you’re playing music for THEM right? you want people to dance or bob their heads; so, why not take a request if that’s what someone wants to hear?

Peace Brother….I am glad you brought that up.
I cannot speak for J-Live…but to me it makes a lot of sense, as the best DJ’s rarely take requests, mainly because they already have a set ready, directed specifically to the crowd they going to play for. A DJ then adapts the set to the vibe of the crowd, if they not felling something or if something is more convenient. Little tweaks here and there but overall it’s whatever they itended originally…
If they take requests from idividuals instead of controlling the whole crowd, it messes up the whole set and vibe of the party.
There’s a few exceptions though, if a DJ is performing at a wedding or BBQ, then it’s normal to take requests
Hope that makes sense brother
