UK emcee TrueMendous is truly a hardworking act and is off to the races with her second release for the year 2021. The track in question titled “Worst Child” is a self-reflective track that sees the emcee diving deep into her life, surroundings, and all the elements that make her tick. “Worst Child”  is the follow-up single to her high-energy single “Cause A Scene,” released in January and was featured here.

Backed by a chilled, moody soulful beat courtesy of Illinformed and smooth melodic runs by vocalist Rozzz, the track explores the purpose of this life through the lens of a young emerging artist. TrueMendous is in her element here and delivers her verses a  unique chopped flow that is spoken word-esque and emotive to the core. Rozzz also does her thing and the insightful lyrics on the chorus help cement the overall message of the track. The visual has a mellow, sepia-tone-like aesthetic and makes use of long-cut scenes and easy-flowing visual effects. I like how they trimmed the fat and just focused on both artists as they express themselves as naturally as possible.

Stream “Worst Child”  on all DSPs here. She is currently preparing to drop her debut album Misdiagnosis of Chyvonne Johnson, which you can pre-order here.
