It’s a tough job as we sift through a ton of high-quality tracks just to settle for just 5 so we switched it up so now we curating the Top 10 Submissions. UK emcee Consensus pushes the envelope with his take on the idea of trying to fit in. His new experimental song titled “Fit In” showcases his dense lyricism laced with personal anecdotes and a smooth flow. He also keeps it light with his approach as he uses different flows on the song to keep it musically dynamic and appealing.

DJ Pharris ft. Young Dolph, Gherbo prod. by Mano – “BOSS”

Chi-town heavyweight DJ Harris teams up with G. Herbo and Young Dolph for the hard-hitting single titled “Boss”.  The trap banger was produced by 3x’s Grammy Award-Winning producer Mano who laces the emcees with the perfect backdrop. As usual, they do come through with their unique styles that emphasize the boss mentality.

A living legend in the Chicago music industry, DJ Pharris began his professional career at Chicago’s WBMX radio station playing house music. Pharris was featured on Kanye West’s Way Too Cold,” and co-produced Future’s “Parachute” ft. R Kelly and West’s “Fade

 

 

 

Wesley Rocco – “Aw Yeah”

Budding emcee Wesley Rocco flexes his lyrical muscles on his new release titled “Aw Yeah”. He goes for the jugular with dense wordplay, multis over a  straight forward boom-bap backdrop. No hook just rhyme schemes

 

 

 

LostPoet & MSages – “Going My Way”

LostPoet teams up with MSages on this new heartfelt record titled “Going My Way”. The track which was produced by Flip da SoulFisher sees the 2 emcees deliver an eternal message of going out and achieving your goals regardless of the obstacles placed in front of you.
LostPoet & MSages are both well known in the OC music scene and this song is the second collaboration from them.
After years of crossing each others paths they felt it was time to release a followup to their 2015 collab “Stamina”. And so they enlisted production from Flip da SoulFisher, Scienz & D-Mar to spark their thoughts on the new ep, ‘Left Coast Cinemati’

Zaydo – “Vendetta”

 


Zaydo is a Northern California rapper who returns after a 4 year break with a new track titled “Vendetta”. The self-produced track has a gloomy vibe which fits Zaydo’s fiery flow and intense lyrics.
“Vendetta” is the 3rd single after his previously released singles ”Leave Me Alone” and ”No Problems” leading up to the debut release of ‘Art Of Resilience (LP)’. Zaydo has one project under his belt, ‘Ideal Harmonics’ which was released in 2015
An independent recording artist based in Northern California. Zaydo’s approach to Hip Hop/R&B is groundbreaking. Providing a New-school, daring, resonant & melodic sound with depicting lyricism.

 

 

Dee Wallz – “Im So Raw”

Dee Wallz stays relentless on his new record aptly titled “Im So Raw”. He jumps over a vibrant cinematic beat which allows him to go full throttle with the pen and spits his heart out. Focused on lyricism and style, he shows the listener how he truly gets down behind the microphone on this song.

 

 

Blank Face Villain – “Midwest Summers”

 

Blank Face Villain ushers the summer in with his new video titled “Midwest Summers”. The mellow track shows the emcee in his true element as he dwells on how the warmest season of the year makes him tick.
The video was filmed over 3 years, combining stunt kite, skateboard, and dance footage recorded in various seasons.

OKORO – “Next Chapter freestyle”

JP Reynolds – “Redwoods”

JP Reynolds returns with a new single “Redwoods” which sees him working with producer Yondo who laces him with a smooth, solemn backdrop. The track is pretty thought-provoking as JP Reynolds takes the listener deep into the inner workings of the systemic oppression that people of color have for years experienced. He sure proffers a solution that states that community empowerment can surely raise us out of the doldrums.

JP holds a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies and a Master of Divinity from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He sees the Peace and Power community as an avenue towards building a spiritual connection to God and a platform to speak truth to power.
